Before we let Shari Smith tell you about herself, she recently did something that needs to be shared. Her actions speak to one of our core values: Family

Recently, a long-time customer called.  He was sick with cancer and essentially bedridden.  His relatives were of no help.  He called our office and spoke with Shari because he knew we would be there for him.  Shari put out a distress signal to our team, and with the help of teammate Angela Zingone, care was provided the very next day. We see our relationship with our clients as family, and were so happy he felt comfortable enough to reach out to us in a time of need.  In turn, we rallied our teammates and worked our connections.  Shari could have simply lent a sympathetic ear, hung up the phone, and moved on to the next call.  Her actions set in motion real and desperately needed help.  Does that have anything to do with insurance? Nope. But it has everything to do with our core values and what it means to be part of the Keller-Brown family. 

Much of what Shari does isn't noticed:  answering and dispatching hundreds of calls a day, setting up and tearing down company events, doing the mail.  These are critical functions to a business and without attention to them, things just don't work like they should.  We appreciate Shari's diligence and are glad she's part of our family!

Now, in her own words, is a little about Shari: 

What drives me, first and foremost, is my faith in the Lord. I strive to be what He wants me to be and live for Him. As a young child I was introduced to Jesus through my loving parents.  They also instilled in me the duty to treat others as you would like to be treated, and to treat everyone with respect and compassion.  That's why I'm such a natural fit for what I do every day here at Keller-Brown!

I have been a Receptionist and Administrative Assistant since 1997 and with Keller-Brown since 2012.  Wow, have I learned a lot!  I love meeting our customers and getting to know them. I knew nothing about insurance when I first started here and can put myself in their place when they have questions and concerns. I am the first face clients see when they come in, so it is very important that I make clients feel at ease and confident that we can help them in any way. I don't view this as part of my job, but as a part of me.   I also enjoy being part of the Keller-Brown family, and helping out whenever and where ever they need me. 

During the coronavirus pandemic, with the exception of me and another co-worker, all of our agents worked remotely. I came into the office every day to continue critical functions like dispatching calls and mail. We have a major outreach initiative to call customers and see if they need help during the pandemic. Normally those duties would be handled by other agents, but the need was great and I've enjoyed being able to help both Keller-Brown and our customers.
