Joy Keller-Brown

Who would have thought? After graduating from college in the late 1970's, I wanted to use my business skills to help people. The answer was right under my nose, and I didn't see it at first. You see, growing up in Glen Rock, my Dad's insurance office was in our home. I was around the industry every day of my life. Eventually my father persuaded me to just give it a try. Now, over thirty-seven years later, it was one of the best decisions of my life. Helping people and lifting up our community is what an insurance career is about. The protection we provide makes sure that liability losses are paid, lives are mended, properties are rebuilt, autos are repaired, and incomes are protected. Insurance is not just another product to be priced and sold off the shelf. Intelligent, intentional insurance changes lives, saves lives, and preserves a way of life. I recommend the career to anyone who wants to make a difference in their community.

One of the most important things to me is our community. My mantra is to support our local community and to help promote its economy and way of life. This life mission drives me to volunteer with organizations that have a similar purpose. You will find me helping at my church, non-profits that support human service needs, and organizations that shore up agriculture and the rich history of York County. In my spare time you will find me with my hands in the soil. My herb garden adds special zest to life and the garden keeps us stocked with locally grown, healthy food. The abundant life of the Susquehanna Valley's rolling hills and fertile land is something worth cherishing.

My three children are what I cherish the most. Jeff and I were blessed with twins over a quarter century ago. Now Ben and Emily are off in the Army and Navy protecting this grand country. We are so very proud of them and ask for your prayers and support that they and all those in the military serve well and come home safe. Just like me, our oldest daughter was exposed to insurance her whole life and joined the agency a few years after college.  My pride swells to know that she makes the fifth generation in the family business, continuing the lineage from 1899.  What has made the long history possible is consistent exceptional experiences delivered with compassion and integrity.
