My mantra is to support our local community and to help promote its economy and way of life. Knowing that Keller-Brown is in its fifth generation in the family business, continuing the lineage from 1899, makes my heart swell with pride
On June 16, 2025, we lost someone who helped shape not only our business, but also the spirit of everyone who worked within it. Joy Keller-Brown dedicated more than 40 years to Keller-Brown Insurance Services, guiding the agency through decades of growth with steady leadership, deep compassion, and an unshakable sense of integrity.
Joy joined the family business in 1978, becoming the fourth generation of the Keller family to lead the agency. Though she once dreamed of running a plant nursery, she found a different kind of growth in the insurance world, cultivating relationships, nurturing a strong company culture, and ensuring Keller-Brown remained true to its roots as a trusted, family-run business.
Together with her husband, Jeff Brown, Joy carried forward her father Barry Keller's legacy and helped position Keller-Brown for continued success in Shrewsbury and beyond. Her operational insight, commitment to education, and community-minded leadership became hallmarks of the company's identity, values that continue to guide us today under the leadership of her daughter, Sarah Brown, the fifth generation to serve.
Joy's professional accomplishments were inseparable from the person she was: genuine, thoughtful, and grounded in faith and family.
She believed business and community went hand-in-hand, serving in leadership roles with organizations such as Zion Lutheran Church, Penn-Mar Human Services, and WellSpan Special Services, among others.
Even as she guided a growing team, Joy never lost sight of what mattered most. She made time for family dinners, her children's athletic and extracurricular activities, and long hours in her gardens. The same care and attention she brought to her flowers could be seen in the way she treated her colleagues and clients.
Her quiet strength, sense of humor, and servant-hearted leadership left an imprint that will always be part of Keller-Brown's story.

As Keller-Brown continues to serve, we do so with immense gratitude for Joy's years of dedication, vision, and heart. Her influence lives on in our values, in our relationships, and in the trust we strive to earn from every client we serve.
(Pictured above, 1st photo) Sue McCoy (L) was our first employee, dedicating 37 years to the company. In recognition of her loyal service, Keller-Brown established a scholarship in her name with the Southern York County School District.
