Life Insurance: No One Likes a Test

August 4, 2020 -

Securing a life insurance policy often means getting blood taken, giving a urine sample, fasting, and/or meeting with a medical examiner/nurse to answer questions about your medical history.  In the current environment when we're supposed to be socially distanced, many don't want to see the nurse who takes the medical exam. This inconvenient, lengthy, and often needle-filled process turns a lot of people away from life insurance.

Simplified Life Insurance Underwriting

If you're one of those people who has avoided getting life insurance for these reasons, we have good news for you. Because of COVID-19, some insurers are issuing policies with simplified underwriting. That means you can happily and seamlessly secure life insurance from the comfort of your own home! No needles, no stepping on a scale, and no nurse coming to your house.

We also recognize that many people choose to forego their own life insurance because they have it through their employer. We've written before about how important it is to have your own insurance policy, even if you have one through your job. If you're one of those people, we strongly urge you to look into your own policy especially because employment is more of an uncertainty now than it was before. In May, the unemployment rate neared 20%. This is the highest it's been since 1948.

Life insurance is unlike most other insurance. You purchase it not to protect yourself but to protect those you love and care most about. If you have contemplated buying a policy in the past or if it has been awhile since you last reviewed your coverage, now is the time. Between the simplified underwriting of policies and compromised job security nation-wide, please consider securing a policy as soon as possible. As with most things, there are limitations, so reach out to us to get all your questions answered and get a quote.
