As a Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania business founded in 1899, we wouldn't be where we are today without continued support of our community. That's why we're dedicated to giving back. Many members of our team devote time and energy to important causes, and we, as a company, provide financial support to many local organizations. Take a look at the impact we've had in our community this past year.

$20,586 donated to community organizations

Throughout this year, we've given $20,586 back to our local community through sponsorships and donations. We've donated funds to organizations like Pennsylvania Envirothon, supporting education about the local environment and exploration of the natural world for local high school students. We've sponsored a number of local events including New Freedom Fest and multiple shows at The Belmont Theatre

We've also donated 47 cases of water to local events, sports teams and clubs. In total, we provided 1,128 bottles of water, a value of $2,256, to support local community organizations.

Finally, we're wrapping up the year with a $500 donation to Make-a-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia following our holiday card contest. After our social media followers voted on 30 drawings, Gabriella from Seven Valleys, PA was crowned the winner. She selected Make-a-Wish to support children in York.

Together, our donations and sponsorships equate to $20,586 given back to the community, and your business helps make this possible.

Connecting local nonprofit organizations with donorsPresident Sarah Brown poses with Aubree who attends Leg Up Farm

Our team works with a variety of top-rated companies, including Erie Insurance and Donegal Insurance, to bring reliable coverage to our clients.  Thanks to our ongoing partnership with both companies and our reputation for community involvement, we've been able to bring even more support to local nonprofits.

Erie Insurance asked our team for nonprofits right here in Southern Pennsylvania they could support. Ultimately, we connected them with organizations doing important work in the community: $2,500 to Leg Up Farm and $1,000 to The Belmont Theatre.

Because our company is in strong standing with Donegal Insurance, we earned $1,000 to be granted to a nonprofit. We recommended Evolve KidsCare, an organization helping provide childcare services to parents in recovery. When Donegal Insurance heard the story of Evolve KidsCare, they agreed the organization would be an excellent use of their donation.

Ultimately, our deep community relationships helped us connect regional insurance providers with organizations doing work in the communities they serve. In total, we helped bring an additional $4,500 to local nonprofits.

144 hours of time volunteered Protection Analyst, Jamye Shah, volunteers with Junior Achievement to teach local students

In addition to financial support, many of our team members volunteer within the community. Treasurer, Jeff Brown served on the board of The Belmont Theatre and gave time to the Southern York County School District Foundation. Commercial Insurance Supervisor Erin Gladfelter helped organize a toy drive for Community Reach, to bring gifts to children in need. Both Jeff Brown and Joy Keller-Brown, served on the Zion Lutheran Church Council, which is dedicated to helping people in the community.

Protection Analyst Jamye Shah volunteered with Junior Achievement for her eleventh year. Each year, she gives roughly 20 hours to the program. As a volunteer, Jamye teaches students about how the skills they learn in school translate to the real world. She loves getting to make an impact on students at her daughter's school, and she's even learned a few lessons herself.

President Sarah Brown shares her expertise with the local community by serving on a number of community associations. She brings her leadership skills to Farm & Natural Lands Trust of York County and the Susquehannock Alumni Association. As a board member of the Insurance Agents & Brokers Association of Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, she shares her expertise to help fellow independent insurance agents build successful careers. Most recently, eight of our team members volunteered with Wreaths Across America to recognize fallen soldiers. Each year, Wreaths Across America lays wreaths on the graves of veterans to honor those who've served and educate people about the sacrifices made for freedom. In November we prepared graves for wreath-laying, and we'll return in December to lay the wreaths.
